Have you ever been to a conference where you didn’t know anyone? It feels so weird, am I right? When I arrived at the Photo Native Conference back in February, I was nervous. I remember sitting outside the hotel, thinking, “I need to go home. I don’t belong here.” Luckily, I didn’t follow that advice. I pulled it together and headed to the Santa Barbara Mission. I had a photoshoot scheduled with Emilie Iggiotti around posing women the way they want to be seen.
Everything changed when I arrived. Instead of feeling like I didn’t belong, I began to feel inspired by the women around me. I met creatives from all over that were excited to practice in a stunning location.
My goal for this photoshoot was to practice posing women in a way that makes them feel confident. The more relaxed you feel, the better your portraits turn out. (So clients feeling confident about their portraits is so important to me!)
While I did pick up some new ideas for where to place hands and fresh angles. I learned so much more about how my tone and direction inspire confidence in others.
I’ve been practicing this part over the last few months and it’s been wonderful to see a change in my work. I can’t wait to make you feel confident!
