Palm Springs Pineapple Pool Party | Shelter in Pool

So I threw myself a pineapple inspired pool party last weekend here in Palm Springs. The restlessness of quarantine was getting to me, and I needed a little challenge to keep my spirits up. I decided it would be fun to throw myself a pineapple pool party, what a Palm Springs thing to do. The twist was I could only use decor I found around the house or could pick up at Target. To make it even more interesting, I wasn’t allowed to go into Target; it had to be available at my local Target for drive-up pickup. (If you haven’t used this yet, it’s magic!)

The first logical step was to create a Pool Party Pinterest board, of course. Scrolling Pinterest helped my excitement grow, and my creative juices were flowing. Once my inspiration was set, I dug through the boxes in my garage from our move. I found so much teal and mermaid-themed decor and just not enough pineapple stuff. (Maybe a mermaid theme next?) The teal, yellow, and green had to be my color palette since my options were limited.

With the color palette and mood board set, it was time to get that grocery and Target list going. I had to make some sacrifices to my vision for what was available at my local Target, but the constraint also brought me the perfect sign for the occasion. (You’ll see it below, it’s my favorite part!)

With the excitement of a fun new sign idea, Shelter in Pool, I had extra energy to set it all up. I carefully crafted the table, poured the drinks, and even made a pineapple vase!
