A fun and hot desert family portraits session!
If you are in the desert you know it’s getting hot out there and 6 pm is not the time to be in pants and a long sleeve. This cute little family braved the 106-degree heat to come to take portraits with me.
The desert can be pretty dry and not ideal for family portraits during the summer. Yet I happened to stumble across this little corner with beautiful Palos Verdes trees one morning on my run. I knew it would be just perfect around sunset time. There were cute paths, big trees and the mountain landscape behind them. I was definitely melting and standing in the middle of the street, but it was worth it.
Desert family portraits & social distance
I was a little nervous getting back into portrait sessions outdoors. I know with masks, distance, and the outdoors, we are likely ok but everything still feels weird. How did we do it you ask?
The boys had their masks ready and remembered not to give hugs. While I kept 6 feet or more the whole time. The heat actually made it easier to keep a distance and helped us move quickly. Anytime, we came close to one another the masks went back on.
How do you explain social distance and masks to kids?
I have to give credit to their mama, she told them the earth was sick and they needed to help out to keep it safe. What a cute way to explain it! Does anyone else have any other good ideas? Let us know and take a look at their gorgeous portraits below.
