Take the quiz to find out!
Your personal brand should have consistent brand themes to help your audience trust and relate to you.
Have you ever thought about what makes you trust a brand? What makes you want to purchase from them? Close your eyes, picture your favorite brand and think about what you love about them. (I’ll wait!) What did you come up with? Write it down.
Chances are that you love this brand because you have a personal connection with them. You feel like you can relate to them somehow. Also, you probably feel like you can trust this brand.
The rest of this article will help you do just that with your own personal brand. This post will help you build trust and connection with your audience through consistent brand themes.
Understand brand themes
So what are brand themes exactly? Here is my take on it. Brand themes are topics that you use to connect with your audience on social media, your website, even in person. The repetition of these themes allows your audience to build trust with you over time and consistently show up.
These themes can be anything that relates to you personally or your business. They should be things you genuinely care about. You will have to keep these up for a while, so don’t write about something you feel meh toward. (Your audience will sense that.)
Choose 4 to 5 themes
Now that you know what brand themes are, it’s time to select 4 to 5 themes that feel right for you and your brand.
To find these themes, here are some questions to ask yourself:
What do you love to talk about? Ex. The color teal, pizza, water-coloring, etc
What are some things your family & friends know about you that most people don’t? Ex. You love to write poems, you are an excellent gift-giver, etc
What is your favorite thing about your business/brand/side hustle? Ex. Making delicious baked goods, flexible time, making templates
How do you spend your free time? Ex. Exploring new places, trying new foods, relaxing at home, with your kids/dogs/cats
What’s something interesting about the area you live or work in?The neighborhood has beautiful trees, you can easily hike nearby, the beach
It’s ok to try a few themes out and change them if they don’t work for you. The more consistent you can be, the better though! Here are some of the themes I have used: pizza, self-care, questions, storytelling, and motion through video
Use themes consistently
So you know what consistent brand themes are, you’ve thought about what themes might be right for you, and now it’s time to use them. Remember, the goal is to build consistency and connect with your audience.
The best place to use these themes is on Instagram. You can build out your content schedule pretty quickly with images and captions related to your brand themes. Whether you’re posting 3 or 5 times a week, it’s easy to use your themes.
For example, – If you post 3 times a week, you can cycle through 6 themes every two weeks. Or if you post 5x a week, you can post one thing from your themes every weekday.
Let’s do this.
I love brand themes because they help you feel consistent, build content quickly, and connect you to your audience on a deeper level.
