Most brands struggle to attract more customers to their business at some point. It’s inevitable, but it doesn’t have to keep you wondering what to do next. I’m going to show you 3 of my favorite ways to make sure your business resonates with your audience. We’ll find out if your brand is communicating what you want it to, is solving a problem for your audience and make sure your offer is easy to understand. Let’s get started!
Surveys are a great way to get started with market research and build your confidence. However, I’ve noticed that some businesses only stick to surveys and don’t do the deep work. While surveys are great, they tell you only a small slice of your customer’s opinion and won’t get you the whole picture on how to attract your customer to your brand.
For a quick survey, ask some questions in your Instagram story using polls. Here are 3 sample questions you can ask to see if your brand, product, message or content is resonating with your audience:
I always get push back on this one! Interviewing your customer is the most impactful thing you can do to make sure your business is reaching it’s intended audience. Interviews will help you understand how to attract more customers and help you make more informed decisions in your business.
I suggest writing out a list of 10-15 people you know are ideal customers then reach out to them to see if they are willing to chat with you for 30-40 minutes. You only need to talk to 5-6 people before you start to recognize a pattern. I usually offer a $25-50 gift card as an incentive and to thank them for taking the time to speak to me.

Usability testing will help you understand how customers process and understand what you offer. You can sign up for an account with Usertesting.com, add your website screens, list out the questions you want potential testers to answer, narrow down your demographic and watch the playback videos as they come in.
This tool is helpful to understand how people experience your website, brand or social media profile. You can see what their first impression is, if they understand what you offer and what they decide to do next.
